Privacy on the English station

What happens when you visit and listen.

This notice covers the English listening page and its information pages. You can listen without signing in. The English edition does not provide story submissions, voice recording, listener accounts or broadcast notifications. The Korean station has additional features described in its separate privacy policy (Korean privacy policy, in Korean).

Delivering the page and audio

Our hosting and media providers, including Vercel and Cloudflare, receive connection information such as your IP address, browser information and request time when serving the site and audio. Provider records are handled under their policies. The English player requests the published program and the station clock; it does not send the Korean station's listener-count heartbeat.

Usage measurement

On the production website we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, broad referral and campaign categories, device/browser information, play and share actions, whether playback has reached 30 seconds or 5 minutes, and how quickly pages load and respond (a rating and a number). Events identify the English station and distinguish a preview from a broadcast. Playback milestones count media progress while sound is enabled; they do not prove that a person heard it.

Our analytics events do not include story text, names, email addresses, account identifiers, or arbitrary URL parameters. We remove private URL parts before loading the analytics tag. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Connection information, including your IP address, can still be transmitted when communicating with Google.

Analytics cookies are configured to expire after two years and may be renewed on a return visit; browser policies can shorten that period. Cookie expiry and Google's server-side data retention are separate. Server retention follows the site's analytics-property settings and Google's policies.

For the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage default to denied and are not changed to granted without consent. Cookieless measurement signals may still be sent. You can block or delete cookies and use your browser's tracking protection or Google's supported Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics does not stop the radio from playing. Local development and synthetic-audio demos do not load analytics.

Sharing

Sharing sends the public English station link and general station text to the app you choose, or copies the link to your clipboard. It does not attach a listening history or account identifier. The receiving app handles what you send under its own settings and policies.
